Sounds like ECU caps. I would replace those ASAP before anymore damage is done.

Or, because you'll probably have trouble finding it there...

The capacitors are used as a filtering device and there is clicking heared because the main power relay if not others are resetting and turning back on.  It is worth pulling out the ecu to check, anyways.

You say you had a deck installed, I've heard of some stereos click for a good 15 seconds for whatever reason before but it was obvious it was coming from the speakers.

hmm ok, so would this click happen when the car is running? or just when it is "on" but not running

ISC motor running....
ask and you shall recieve
the clicking is because its not a standard dc motor rather a multicoil brushless motor bettetr known as a stepping motor and the clicking noise is the steps as it turns.

what Mike said is the truth.

Had a bad ECU once that made the IAC stepper go nuts.  Also had a bad IAC that did it all on its own.  Either way, sounds like that.

Combined with the clicking under the dash, getcher caps replaced.

I know of one guy on this thread that can hook ya up for one or both of those issues. (and it aint me)

Idle
Speed
Control

Motor.  It'll fuck up your idle, make it surge and fluctuate all over the place.

you are missing the point.  Its not your ISC motor that is the problem, but a symptom of the bad ECU.

my car idle surges every time it's cold! is that to do with the ISC clicking? i'd guess yes, so meron doesnt point and laugh at me

is it something that should be fixed? or just an annoyance
