I have an electric dremel tool, but I'm not sure how much to take off. I was thinking of doing a gasket match, but how far in do you go?

don't bother with a dremel.  Seriously.

Its gonna take you a few hours with a good die grinder and good bits.

if you plan on doing the turbo, manifold and o2 houseing i wouldn't reccomend even trying the dremel.....

just borrow a die grinder from someon or buy a good electric one

My buddy was borrowing my garage to install something one day so I played around with porting my old 1G mani using the dremel... holy slow progress.  Die grinders are superior.

Mark, if you are going to borrow the grinders, buy your own bits first.  They are the expensive part.  Hell, you can get grinders cheaper than some of the bits!!  And if you use someone elses tool, its the bit they worry about.

ok, looking at the collecter of the manifold it measures ~55mm. I know I should remove the ring flange from it but do I keep giong until I reach a 6 cm diameter? Or just remove the ring? Also how far in to the runners do I go? 1.5-2 inches?

I thought I'm supposed to leave the deflector part in the collector?
