Recall

I was told that my power transfer unit (tranfer case) was under a recall for the tale shaft leak. Can any one confirm that. And would it be to late to get it fixed now.

You can have it done if it has never been done before( My old car never was fixed and was leaking badly but at the time of a previous check it was simply looked at and said to be ok and that is considered doing the recall) You can yell and scream at Chrysler Canada but it does no good, simply call them and give them your VIN # and they will tell ya. Good Luck.

depends where you go.
The balljoint and transfer case recalls were both done twice on my car.
and i think transfer case is a lifetime safety recall.l

Wow I just called earlier today for my transercase and I see this thread! The recall was not done on my car and I have an appointment next week to get it looked at. I'm not quite sure if it's leaking, but better safe than sorry. They were really nice and said just bring it in and it will all be free! I was quite suprised. It was the Chysler Jeep Dodge dealership in Port Coquitlam on Christmas Way.

I bought my NT from there from Ivan.

I found that dealership to be good - rare

Dude the check will constitute them fullfilling their recall obligations, That is what happened to me, mine started to leak afterwards, they never actaully fixed anything they simply looked, if I was you I would first go to LNR or topend turbo heck even all the express oil change places will check fluid levels for free, As far as it being a safety issue, trust me it is all BS, Chrysler Canada will do nothing for you.

well, like I said,  chrysler canada, more specifically marine chrysler, did the recall twice on my car, no questions asked.  When I took it in to get it fixed the second time, the service manager even told me when the first owner did the first recall.

I have to book an apoitment when ever i get my car running good so guys that have a Leaking Power Tranfer Unit (tranfer Case) take it in and get it checked out.

I just got my car back today. They inspected it, and it WAS leaking...so they changed the seals, and the best part is, it costed me NOTHING!
