Finally got a chance to do this, since the Talon's sitting for the winter.  Sanded everything down, tinted it, and got this and the center section professionally cleared...just picked it up today.  Can you say shiny??!!!  The palm pictures do not do it justice.  I'll take more when it's mounted on the car...

Looking good.  More details would be good, what exactly was done?  Sanded the outside and sprayed a thin coat of black on the orange section then what?  What's the clearing all about, a chemical process of removing the orange or clearing the red more or what?

That'd look rad on a 1Gb... like mine, for instance  8)

Nothing magical.  Some 800 then 1000 grit sand paper, VHT nightshade on the turn signals, and finally bodyshop clearcoat.  Light still comes through, albeit dimmer.  It will be counteracted by some 50w 1156 bulbs :).

That looks really good Kimyee! I wish I thought of that before I swapped over to the Eclipse bumper. Real original, looks nice! :thumbs:

Okay, gotcha, thanks Kimyee.  I misunderstood the "cleared", thought you got them de-coloured or something instead of clearcoated.  It's all clear now.   8)

Ive always planned on doing that with my 1gb tails.  Love the tails on Porsches and damn does that look good on yours.   :pimp:  Kimyee.

we use to just add some black in the clear and it works just as well!
but bottom line is UNIQUE

what am i trying to say? haha nice!

No reason adding some colour shouldn't work, even with other colours.  I tint the clearcoat for wood finishes.  Then clear overtop so your colour doesn't scratch.

Back on the car.  I gotta say.  I like it...I like it a lot! :)





With the flashers on.  It's a little dark, but I got my 50W halogen 1156 bulbs coming.

Wow that looks really slick! Especially on black, really original.

Your blinkers really shine through the black on the tailights, looks awesome!

Looks sort of like an Avenger rear end with the blinkers off.
