or you could just get a used tranny in good shape for 600 bucks....unless you just recently did a clutch job or sumtin, then it might be that your shift linkage is screwy, in which case adjusting it properly would be the case.

Your synchros are screwed, it'll just keep getting worse and worse. You can try to change the tranny fluid, it might help solve the problem for a little while, but in the end you are going to have to get the tranny rebuilt.

Usually when the synchros go it's hard to get into 1st or reverse and it grinds.

Obvious guy says: "take it back and kick them in the nutz"

Unless you're banging gears at 7k, a tranny rebuild should last more than 8 months.

How do you adjust the linkages in the 2G?  There's no way to adjust it..
It's just two long cables..

check a shop manual and the vfaq :D

the ends of the cables that connect to your shifter are adjustible by length.

you dont adjust the linkage under the engine bay, you adjust the linkage underneath the console that are directly attached to the shifter.

You can't!  Have you ever looked at 2G shift linkages?

I know, cause I've taken apart my shifter assembly before in my quest for "no free shifter play."
