I think you mean volts. Our alts run 90 amps.

I just bought a remanufactured one last week from UAP/NAPA for 195 + core charge. It was the best deal I could find on short notice.

Just a heads up, depending on how long you have been running 18`ish Volts I would inspect your capacitors in your ECU. Change them for sure if you havent allready.

If I remember right all the capacitors in my ECU were rated at 50V max.  So he would be fine in that regard.

Nick, before you assume the alternator is bad, make sure that the control wires  (the 2 (edit) conductor connector) are making good contact with the alternator.

Why not?  19V is far away from 50V.

That is a very good deduction there martin, now go run off to your books and read what happens to electrolytic capacitors when subjected to variable spikes in voltage over a long period of time. YES their ability to filter is reduced and the result is what?  mmm a BLOWN CAP.. well now do you understand or is this in the realm of the "reversable injector" :)

It is well known that our Alts will give outputs MUCH higher than rated when the regulator fails so why would this concept be so hard for you to understand?

Now before you get your panites in a bunch and spew off a nice flame retort, THINK about why I would respond like this. Helping people is great, but giving out false info is NOT helpful. Get it?

Double check the ALt main fuse, it has a way of not looking blown when it is. You need to put a meter across it.

Please use spell check of some sort and proper sentence structure helps clarity.
