Event schedule suggestion
« on: October 03, 2004, 10:47:42 am »
This is just a suggestion for advanced planning, and to promote clarity.

The Committee makes a Yearly Calendar posted as a sticky, and locks it.
It does not get posted to death this way but can still be updated by the Committee if they agree with submitted suggestions.

Something like:

November 6th - Smashing Pumpkin cruise
Take your pumpkin out to the back 40 - bring the fireworks - It's gonna be a "smash!"
                         Time: x:xxpm
Meet at: x and x in the x lot
                         Destination: x
Comments or suggestions: go to this post labattz.x.x.x

December 5th - Donuts in the sky cruise
Bring to snow tires because it is "donut day" up Mt. Seymore.
                         Time: x:xxpm
Meet at: x and x in the x lot
                         Destination: x
Comments or suggestions: go to this post labattz.x.x.x

January 1st - Polar Bear cruise
Bring the swimming trunks and an extra set of warm clothes. January 1st is day of the Polar Bear - cruise to the beach and go for a swim. Instant hang-over cure.
                         Time: x:xxpm
Meet at: x and x in the x lot
                         Destination: x
Comments or suggestions: go to this post labattz.x.x.x

Then add a disclaimer at the bottom of this "Meets" page like:

This page is the official page, all times and locations are "official" the subsequent post links provided are only for suggestions and comments - If the committee like a suggestion - THIS page gets updated by them.

You could even have leave it as just the dates until a month or two in advance when you figure out what to do at the meet then.  At least people would know the planned date in advance if they need to take time off or something.

Marty, good suggestions, but since we meet mods get together rarely...

In any case, I'll take it under advisement, and will be starting a new thread asking for suggestions.

Mike, the dates ARE set, believe it or not.  I don't know how many times i have to say this for people to get it  but it's the FIRST WEEKEND and ALTERNATING DAYS.  This month it was supposed to be Saturday, so next month it'll be November 7th.  Ai.  BUt yeah, workin' on it.  Just...bogged down by school.

so what's the deal with meets nowadays? Unfortunately I can't offer to organize the meets anymore (too busy) but I'm just wondering if it's gotten all sorted out. I could help out a bit, but not as much as I used to.

I'm in the process of organizing a committee of members to plan monthly meets.

Right now, first weekend of the month - alternating sat/sun.  There will always be one BC DSM Sanctioned event, but members are always welcome to throw up additional meets or get togethers throughout the rest of the month.

As a side note, we have to have atleast one meet up at Cypress in Dec/Jan again.  AWD + SNOW = FUN! untill of course, the Cypress Mountain Security occifers kick us out :P
