Tap for EvoIII turbo bolts?
« on: October 02, 2004, 03:16:04 pm »
The threads of two holes got stripped when I took the turbo off... Looking for a 10MM tap that will do the trick. Does anyone know the pitch or where I could find this tap? Thanks

I don't think you can repair them by just re-tapping them Jared. Unless you tap them out bigger and use bigger bolts. I was planning to use Helicoils to restore the original threads

Ohh is it in my inbox?

Thomas skinner is willing to source it out but turnaround is probably realistically 3-4 weeks.  I can't wait until I break that one tap.  I'm going to be so happy.

None of the original thread material was ever removed, if you drilled out the bolt material and followed the original threads, you should be fine.
