tranny question

i have a 92 talon n/t , reverse and 5th dropped out with no noise, but occasionally reverse works. Has anybody else had this problem and if so is it a simple fix or is the tranny screwed. any help would be great.

Have you done a tranny fluid replacement yet?
If so, what did the fluid took like, what about the plug? (lots of metal?)
If not - it is a fair place to start with unexplained tranny problems and is low cost.

Have a look at your tranny cable brackets in the engine, it may be loose or misaligned. look for easy stuff first ;)
