« Reply #75 on: March 04, 2003, 08:44:05 am »
Alright here are the official meet schedule.

(Heres my section)
Meet up at Peace Arch Border Crossing at 5:45am depart from border @ 6am.  Meet in JC Pennys parking lot in Tacoma, WA @ 9am and depart from there at 9:30am.  Meet in Ridge Meadows, Oregon @ 12pm.

OR/WA Meet Cruise Directions from OR
Reset your trip odometer when we leave the parking lot at Portland Meadows so that corresponding mileages at each turn are correct.

0.0   Miles   Leaving Portland Meadows turn right onto Whitaker.

0.4   Miles      Right on Expo Rd.

1.5    Miles      Right on Force Ave.

1.6    Miles      Right (light) on Marine Dr.

2.5    Miles   Marine Drive Exit

CAUTION!  Railroad tracks nearing the end of Marine Drive are awful.  Please slow down so as not to ruin your rims!

17.8   Miles   Left at end of Marine Dr.

18.3   Miles   Right toward Mt. Hood

18.5    Miles   Left on Columbia River Hwy.

19.4   Miles   Right at end of bridge

28.4   Miles   Right toward Larch Mountain

Larch Mountain was closed about 10 miles up due to snow at the time of route planning.  We may turn around at that point and head back to Women’s Forum Park if it is still closed the 22nd.  Lunch will be at the Troutdale McMenamins after meeting at the Women’s Forum Park.  The route was planned with those that have a long way to go home in mind and we should be able to arrive near our reservation time at 2pm to eat.

from Troutdale after lunch we will follow the Tacoma guys back up the I5 and head home, should be back in town by say 8pm or so.

Anyone have any disputes or anything?

I would rather bring down a fat sack instead.

the prices arent that bad, looking at about $13 a person, remember this place is on top of a mountain, its pretty classy if im not mistaken.

I've been to the Troudale McMinnimans a few times(sister was even married there) and I can say its a GREAT place.  Huge acreage, awesome buildings, great view, has its own brewery, glass blowing, flower garden etc.

I found the prices not to be all that bad, really.

When I saw that, I was happy.  Very nice place to have lunch.  It is not all that big in the pub tho, hope we all fit :)

I will meet ya all in Portland, as I said.

edit, cause I'm brain dead

Travis, I see that we are meeting at Ridge Meadows?  And they are leaving from Portland Meadows?  Are these the same, or different?

As well, do you have directions to the place we meet?  Is this in Portland?

I ask this because Portland Ore is a very big, very complicated city to drive in, and the locals, while very helpful, can be confusing, because they live there and it is easy for them.  I go there a couple of times a year on average, and am getting better, but 10 years of this and I still get lost, unless I stick to what I know.

Make sure everyone has their FRS.  Very important.  And plenty of batteries for your FRS too.  Car adapters are even better

It is Portland Meadows, do you know where that is, i can get the street name if you want.

Yes bring FRS and lotsa batteries!!
about the sitting area, they have reservations for us, they have a banquet room that can hold up to 200 people, so I think we are covered.  NWDSM guys figure about 40-50 cars, with someone else in it looking at about 100 people, heh!

Portland meadows, rgr that.  Street address would be great, with that my family could get me there no prob at all.

Yea McMinnimans has LOTS of room on the whole facility, but the brew pub will not hold over 100 people, no way.  Hope they are up for it, an empty banquet room will not be nearly as much fun as the pub, or one of the smaller facilities.

The roads around Troutdale and the mountains are tres cool tho, windy, clean, no traffic(cept for 100 dsm's) itl be a joy :)
