Vancouver parking enforcement will give each licence place number one free waiver on a parking ticket - just call them if you get one.

I did that once called them to inform them that I didn't believe I wasn't illegally parked and they just waived the ticket over the phone, but I didn't know about this.  Can you actually just call them and ask them to use your one free ticket?  And what if you get towed?  Is that free once too?  I doubt it because it's the seperate busters towing vancouver contract eh?

I beg to differ.  Especially in yaletown.  They tow for every violation.  I valet park and see a lot of this parking enforcment shit that goes on.  And the tow truck drivers.. poor poor cars.

Only under specific situations.

Yeah they say that on their site but that's a load of b.s. from what I have witnessed countless times and been subject to myself.  Cars that have NO safety hazard, no inconvenience, just by themselves wherever will get towed on technicalities.  but I guess expired meters are an inconvenience to others.

I've even seen these bylaw enforcement agents park illegallt, right against a stop sign, walk up the block for ice cream and come back and drive off.  I actually asked this lady as she was walking back with ice cream in hand "aren't you supposed to be enforcing the bylaws not breaking them?" with just an angry glare.

Lol - ya the one that gave me the ticket was parked illegally.

Ya - I know Busters will tow ya if they can remotely justify it - I hate tow guys.

Anyway, I am pretty sure they would not grace someone a tow bill.

The most painful to watch incident was a tow guy who picked up a manual transmission 540i which was in gear by the front wheels, then dragged it around the corner and then put the rear on trolleys.  The wheels were skipping/hopping the whole way.

Well I talked to him and what happaned he was runing 16PSI and decided to turn up his MBC, so he did and without knowing set it @ 27 PSI

You can't just change MBC without test driving the car and making sure it's set right.

Tow driver was nice....Only charged me $100 for the tow to Surrey and no charge for dollies. Luckily the diff didnt blow, the cv broke off inside the diff :? It was a clean break and no metal shavings got in the tranny. I superglued, yes superglued, a shifter bushing to the hunk of cv and pulled it out with pliers. Though the reason for it breaking was I ripped the tranny mount right off the tranny,.Stripped both holes out of the tranny case and one of the bolt holes casting is broke right off :( I didnt cant think of the reason for this because all of the mounts are prothanes, but what the hell, it did happen.
