I've also seen the 1G gullwing cars

My dads corvette has a targa top made of glass, and it has tons of cracks in it from flexing with the car... scary!

Travis, you're wrong...I think you're captain blanko here...:)

The only thing wrong with what Dre did is that you really loose a lot of strutural rigidity by discontinuing the roof.  The roll cage helps, but it's not something you'd want to do especially when the chassis is trying to contain 500 Whp!!!!

Yes, I've seen pictures of european market targa tops.

I should get it from my friend.. he's got a car mag with reviews on the prototype eclipse, there's the coupe, and the roadster version.. convertible, with stock 17s, it's sick.. but never made it to production.. I'll scan the article and post it...

if someone wanted to do a targa top where would be the place to go to do it in lowermainland cuz i wanted to do when i first got my car but i went to a few shops and they basically laughed at me but the only quote i got was around 2 thousand ball park and they said it would probably be more. anyways anyone with info ar suggestions let me know cuz i really want to do it  if its worth while.

Any old collision body shop won't know the first thing about a mod like that.    Try finding some hot rod places, the kind of places that can chop, channel and section an old lead sled and french in the lights and antennaes, a real autobody customizing shop.

Try going to ALTERATIONS in langley...they can prolly hook you up.
