Turbo oil feed
« on: February 02, 2004, 07:29:20 pm »
I have seen people take oil from a plug on the head to feed the turbo. Why is this done?   Wouldn't it be bad to take it from there because it robs the cams of lubrication?  Autometer sells $40 ss braided oil lines, I'm thinking of upgrading.

I don't think the valvetrain actually requires all that much lubrication... I know on small block chevy's it takes a fair bit for a conventional valvetrain but a fully rollerized setup takes next to no oil.  You can just about totally plug off the oil to the heads and it'll run great.  Lots of the SBCs actually have oil control problems because there's too much oil on the top end.
