S-AFC in center vent
« on: January 31, 2004, 05:37:13 am »
since I have the weekend off, I thought I would properly put the AFC in the center vent, instead of having the gaps in the sides.  I will post a " how to " in the near future. But this is what I have so far.

I like the idea that it is there, but I also like those vents, so I guess I will keep it where it is.

I'm sure it will look good in Scotts car tho :)

Missed ya today, it was good.  There was a car JUST like Jason's Rex that came drivin up the street, and we thought it was you guys, but it was just an old man.  Hehe, he didnt like us starin :)

Thanks John, good to hear you all had fun. The first try on the centervent pod was a disaster. I ripped it appart and started over!! This is the stage its at right now. Primer coat will soon go on.

As soon as I get some good pics available I will show you how I did it Ernie. I had it almost finished and I put in the afc to make sure it fit well, the bondo I had sanded down cracked so I had to do it over again!!!  I wil have pics up ASAP. It seems to be goin well now

Scott use fiberglass resin instead of bondo.  The bondo will always crack, even if you get it working right now, in time it will.

it only cracked because the AFC was too tight of a fit and I jammed it in,hehe. But resin is a good idea

UPDATE........ once again it cracked!!

I used super glue gel to seal the crack and resanded and primed. It worked really well so I used the gel to reinforce all the corners before I primed it.

This is the first coat of paint. Once the paint has dried fully I will put the afc in and get a better pic.
