UBCSCC Auto-X Event #7: Feb 22nd, Boundary Bay
« on: January 27, 2004, 11:28:38 pm »
Just wondering if there is any interest in going autocrossing on February 22nd.  Anyone want to show those Miatas how it's done?   I'm pretty much set on going.  Before you sign up though, remember that you have to be there by 8 in the MORNING for tech :java:

9 possibly? not sure on that one.  A bit of a piss off waiting for your runs, but still hella fun when you do.  Plus watching guys that don't know how to drive is always fun to.  I watched a brand new 2004 WRX smoke his clutch quite well on his first 3 runs (Andrew can attest to that).  The good times offset the damn early morning

Matt, $40 if you've never run before, $20 if you have.

Howard, it should be ok if you came out, just throw some painter's tape on the front bumper (so if you rub some cones, they don't leave a mark).  I'm sure your car won't fall apart on you......maybe

keep in mind, the 22nd is the SFUvs.UBC challenge so it will most likely be busier than usual. There is a pre-reg list at http://www.ubcscc.com if you want to garantee your spot.

Also when arriving at the site DRIVE SLOWLY AND RESPONSIBLY, this is very very very extremely very specially important. The clubs are under intense scrutiny from the local government/community who could and are very willing to take away their access to the site. So be good!

good point Troy.  As a club we should set an example, if a cop or other official sees a BCDSM car, it should automatically be a good feeling for them.

Let em pick on the ricers and Mustang guys.
