Speedometer plug?
« on: January 22, 2004, 11:07:37 pm »
Just picked up my car from the shop, very happy  :D  and all.  On the way home, speedometer stopped working.  DOH, figured that when the engine was out, they put the plug back to loosely.  Curious to find out where the plug is on a 2g.  My guess was somewhere around the tranny but I'm not sure.  Also, what else may cause speedometer to stop working? a fuse perhaps? ideas?

thanks in advance

Check the top back region of ther tranny. That's about where it is on a 1G, fwd anyways.  There'll be a twist on cap the size of a pop bottle cap with a cable coming out of it and leading to the master cylinder area.

hey if the spedometer is not working, then maybe the odometer is not working.. I'd leave it unhooked if that is the case.... you'll keep the same mileage forever  :D

Hey mike, the switched to a speed sensor on the 2g's.
There is a little thing on the tranny right where mike said there should be a cable. It has a 3 prong connector on it.

Get a new collision shop.

But seriously, call them, see if they'll fix it.
