The high flow cats work great, they flow tons and I have not heard of anyone failing Aircare as a result of installing one, properly tuned motor being a given as well.

btw- curious if you confused this forum with some sort of dating service?

How a 3-Way Cat Works
« Reply #6 on: January 15, 2004, 04:53:46 pm »
A catalytic converter is a device that uses a catalyst to convert three harmful compounds in car exhaust into harmless compounds.

The three harmful compounds are:

Hydrocarbons (in the form of unburned gasoline)
Carbon monoxide (formed by the combustion of gasoline)
Nitrogen oxides (created when the heat in the engine forces nitrogen in the air to combine with oxygen)
Carbon monoxide is a poison for any air-breathing animal. Nitrogen oxides lead to smog and acid rain, and hydrocarbons produce smog.
In a catalytic converter, the catalyst (in the form of platinum and palladium) is coated onto a ceramic honeycomb or ceramic beads that are housed in a muffler-like package attached to the exhaust pipe. The catalyst helps to convert carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. It converts the hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide and water. It also converts the nitrogen oxides back into nitrogen and oxygen.

What the?????  It's not?????

Back to the cat, I would suggest that if you make allowances for switching back to the stock cat, it won't be a problem regardless.

with my high flow monolithic cat, I passed aircare with extremely good results. I even had 0.00 on 2 scores.

Course that was with stock injectors, pump, regulator and no SAFC, and only mild MAF work.

we shall see about this year :(

I have a Buscher high flow cat and i've passed Air Care wit it nicely.  Well that was 2 years ago.  I failed this time cause i was getting a rebuild and i went thru rite after the rebuild and the cat wasn't warmed up enough yet.  You can't use a non-used Cat thru air care.  Won't work.  So i gotta conditional pass.  Should be interesting to see how i go thru this year tho.
