clutch pedal click
« on: January 10, 2004, 01:51:43 pm »
just at the top, when I take my foot off I get a clearly audible click.

You have to push it down about half way for it to happen.

kinda sounds like a large switch?  I poked my head in under there but its not readily tracked, at least not by me.

99% sure it's your cruise control switch. It's activated by the pedal right at the top of it's swing, and it's a pretty big switch. Try engaging cruise control with the clutch just far enough down so you haven't heard the click yet; if it's not engaging, ta-da.

you know how you cant start your car without your clutch pedal engaged, mine broke and had to replace it, a little black switch behind the pedal.

Emerson, it clicks at the top of the pedal stroke.

Kevin, I tried the cruise thing, long drive down Prest road :)  Anyways, it clicks before the cruise switch will allow the green cruise light to come on.  About 1 more inch AFTER the click is when I can engage the cruise. :(

Also, it happens when its warmed up.  No click when cold.  Only after a few block/min.
