vacuum solenoid, will it work with fluid?
« on: November 22, 2003, 10:19:08 pm »
Anyone disect one of these?  I need to know if they'll work with fluids or if they'll crap up?  I want to use the vacuum section to control fluid flow from an electric switch.  The fluid in question is washer fluid.  It'd save me fabbing up a 2 pump setup for one of my next projects.

I don't know if it will work with fluid, but mine was not at all any good for custom projects.  It would not open or close when 12v was applied.  Maybe mine was just shot??

A 2 port vaccuum solenoid will work fine for fluid, although it will flow bad. A vented one might not work because the the coils are exposed to the fluid I believe.
