Where can I get a deal on the optima battery?  I heard that the exide's are avaiable at tirecraft, but I have a feeling their prices might not be great.

I'd recommend doing some more research on the Optima.  I have a red top but I'm on my third replacement in about four years.  Fortunately, they were all replaced free of charge from the warranty.  My wonky alternator probably contributed in part to the early failures (and/or vice versa).  The tech that installed my most recent battery said Optima's were ok/good but it's kind of over-rated due to marketing hype.  If I had to do it again, I wouldn't rule out getting another Optima but I'd check out what other quality alternatives are out there that might be of better value.

Costco sells Optima batteries but the last time I checked, they didn't have any for the 2g.  Not sure if they carry them for the 1g or do special orders.

thats wierd... I've had my optima for 2 and a half years and no problem. But the lifetime warnanty thing is cool, they'll just keep on replacing them if they break..... I've had no problems with mine, it just never dies...

theres this place in surrey beside mopac that sells them for cheap... I cant remember what they are called though... right behind Gold's Gym

DieHard Gold was a good battery for me,good warranty and pretty well priced.

ACDelco batteries are also very nice.  Have had one in the Sunbird for 5 years and it is still going strong.  $75 is pretty cheap too.

In my last car ( 89 Pulsar ) I used a rideon lawnmower battery. it was about 10-50 lbs. worked great.  but....  only lasted like 6 months at most though.  Did work while it worked though.

ACdelco? cheap?  might have to look at that.
