I love the idea, my girl and I go to the states pretty much every weekend. With that said though, I'm an old school member and I think that it would be a shame to see the FVT die and become something different...but that's just my opinion.
I think we should preserve the FVT and keep it as our annual pre-summer/summer meet however; this fits perfectly for those who cannot make it to FVT. I'm proposing that we make this our annual fall/winter meet.
This ride was NOT to REPLACE FVT, right Tony. It is to get the club doing one more thing as a group, not everyone I know can go go across the line for one reason or another. Just another fun thing as a group.
I agree with doing something like this yearly.
I have not received any instruction that this tour replaces any tour. It was posted up here by me after the original invite went out via the BC DSM Facebook page. My impression is that this is a great way to get some members together for a Spring meet and that it would be directed by participating member consensus.
Personally, I would like to see BC DSM meets every quarter - Spring, Summer & Autumn (in Winter, most DSMs are "hibernating", but, hey, nothing stopping AWDs, FWDs and brave Spyders out for some fun) and a meet on Vancouver Island. However, it takes a team of individuals to carry out a successful meet and tour, so we could easily join other car club meets too (let those clubs organize, so we can just show up as a DSM pack, cruise as a pack and eat fast-food as a pack. And, no, I don't see BC DSM's animal sign as a Wolf!)
So, let's help Travis out and start listing whether you can make a Spring tour in 2015 (date to be announced later), á la FVT Tour style (apologies in advance if I missed someone):
1.Travis Koch
2. Paul Pigar
3. John King
4. Ryan Singh
5.
Perhaps:
1. Jamie McIntyre
2. Kevin Altoe
Travis, do you want some company on the "scouting" trip?
