Hey guys! I put a die grinder to it .. It didn't do much to the rod except put a small notch on it.
I have a angle cutter somewhere ..but,
I tried to bend it using 2by4 and large pry bar..
It flexed but still retained it's shape ( plus I didn't want to damage my steering wheel)
The steering lock rod is a quality piece of steel.
I got frustrated and hit the steel rod (4 lb hammer) and the rod jumped a notch (making it shorter)
I hit again ...and it jumped another notch.
One more notch jump and I was able to removed the steering lock..
I hope this is a one time event......because its too easy..
If this works on other steering locks we might as well throw them all away.
