huh.  Big burns?

I have yet to see that.  Not saying it can't happen, obviously it can, but the ones I have seen all had like 15-30 psi on that one cylinder and normal on the others.

I hope its that, cheaper and easier, but I still suggest a leak down test

oh yeah. the one i took out of the champagne had a huge chunk burned out of it.  looked like someone took a acetalene torche to it and blasted it away.  that happend at 19 psi of boost on stock MAS/fuel pump/injectors.  OOPS.

heres a pic of the valve in question (from the champagne talon)... luckily the seat was undamaged and i was able to get away with a new headgasket and a used valve...  and i upgraded to ARP's at the same time lol

ouch!  Yea the ones I have seen have only been 1/3 that size.  They do look like torch cuts tho eh?

Being that the OP posted that its been super low boost I don't think its gonna be like this one but who knows until its tested.

I'd get the head to a machine shop for a hot tanking and clean while its off.
Check people who are selling motors in parts for a valve.
I bet even brett has some valves for you.

I recommend doing the leak down before starting the motor. that way if there are any issues with the head sealing it can be dealt with. Rg does it this way. then break in and leak down again.
