The trans is mounted rigid to the subframe too   :o     must vibrate like a mofo! lol   is that common?

Solid mounts or motor plates are standard on race cars, also the V6 runs a lot smoother than a 4cyl.  Snapped parts, hopefully not since this car is automatic.

Looks awesome!  Reminds me of Marco's rear sub-frame for the 2G.

I don't see what's bad about this at all (besides being unsuitable for a daily driver due to NVH).  It seems like many of the fast DSMs have solid mounts and custom rear and front sub frames.  Maintaining driveline alignment under launch is key to keeping parts from exploding (and making Shep style launches possible).

Ive seen plenty of cars running solid mounts ( not just urethane ). All of them were definitely full-on race cars.  A solid mount setup would suck with a lumpy 4banger    lol      Its a shame all that beautiful custom work goes unseen....    till the guy flips his car around half-track  lol

ps I ran one solid mount on my 91. No movement in it at all. The one on the hotside under the mani.

The engine and trans make a fantastic chassis brace as well when solid mounted.

True story, all four of my mounts are pretty much solid. Was effectively a massage chair with the stroker.

What Lowell said about the engine/trans being stressed members is true.  All F1 and that kind of car use the solid, strong engine as a part of the chassis.  It works very well.

lots of work in that car for sure.

Although, interestingly enough, Ducati switched to having their motor as a stressed part of the frame on their 2011 MotoGP chassis.
It didn't work! The bikes handling was all screwed up, and thus the bikes were typically slower. Riders didn't like it.
