there used to be a place called industrial plastics in surrey that did fiberglass supplies. Not sure if they are still around. You can try a place called Nexeo.

Are you sure you want to gelcoat it?
I don think you'd get it to lay down very well, whether it's brushed or thinned and sprayed. It would need lots of wetsanding and polishing to get even a half decent finish.

You might consider getting it recleared at a body shop instead.

it depends how deep the cracks are. in normal fiberglass you would grind the cracks out and refill with resin. however, this will make it look like an obvious repair.

Okay, don't try and fix the cracks.

The only way you'll see a smooth finish on a composite piece is when it comes from the factory - They lay down the gelcoat that you see on top of the hood first thing on top of the mold - That's how it gets its' good finish. Then the rest of the cf/fg/resin is laid up on top of that.

Especially on a very very cosmetic peice, where you can't simply paint over the repair and get a decent finish regardless of whats under it, you'll want to avoid screwing with it.

I'd attempt to feather the edges out slightly, then take it to a bodyshop and have them clear it. Perhaps twice, or as neccessary until the cracks aren't visible. Feather - clear- sand - clear - wetsand - clear.

It's not a small task, especially on a hood with vents and details to work around. But it's the only way to get it looking right without it obviously being a repair.

Get a new hood. Fixing could get costly.
