Changing car color
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:38:57 am »
Wondering how much hassle to change my car color from red to white.
Assuming separate pricing for minor body work ..
How much would a body shop charge?
Can I save my DSM factory door stickers?

nice job will be like $2500ish you will want to do the engine bay as well which will require engine removal, door jams and trunk jams. calvin or zach probably knows better

I have a buddy that works at Jans precision auto body in langley. They are really good. I know of many people who take their cars there.

Ide give them a call. Even if its just for an estimate. They can include or exclude any part on the car and explain the cost difference.
337awhp.  ---> 500 awhp ? =)

Replacing parts since early 2010.

Quality is everything. A cheap job will look cheap and probably not last, either.
A good job will look good and hold up better.

A good job, could easily be $3-5k. A cheap job will be less. Repairs (dents or rust or anything else) will add to the cost.

(Keeping in mind that I'd say a 'good' job is OEM quality. Doors, hood, hatch off the car, all trim out, claddings off, bumpers off. All inners painted. I'd leave the engine bay unless you're prepared to pull the motor and strip everything out of the bay.

Your door stickers can be masked off, shouldn't be an issue to save them.
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.

its a big job.  I actually think the estimates above, even Cams are a bit on the low side for something even approaching factory quality.
