my boss warned me about rear drum brake springs coming at your face..  He said a guy that used to work for him actually lost almost 100% vision in one eye.

was it on a honda?  thats what got him...

Sorry to hear about your eye!!  Hopefully it was nothing major!  Hope your back up and 100% again soon!!   Are you working still?

no, disc brakes.  Super random freak thing. No one would wear safety glasses doing what I was doing.  Just wierd luck on this one.  Drum brakes yes, lots of tension on those springs.

I didn't finish work on friday, and I lost the whole day on saturday, but I should be fine for monday.

It will heal fully, so the doctor said.  And its way better already.

Still don't like bright lights, or quick movement of the eyeball in my skull but its way better than friday...

no got a brake spring in my eye, and an eye patch.  Legally not allowed to drive for a bit.
Were you one eyed before you got your other one "springed"?  You are legally allowed to drive with one good eye, just not commercial classes.  Class 5,6 allowed.  Ask me how I know...  What was the damage to your eye?  Full recovery expected?

maybe Richard, but I could not even really hold open the other eye.  It hurt just to think about that eye, let alone move the other one.  It was tearing up really badly and just sitting still was bad.  I had to sleep laying down one way only.  I suppose if the world was going to end, I could have maybe made it home driving but it would have been really dangerous.  Really dangerous.

The damage was a fairly large(the doctor said humungous lol in an Indian accent) scratch on my cornea.

again, full recovery expected.  Tho this morning it hurts like a bitch.  I may have over used it yesterday...

yes, now that you mention the cornea scratch, I had one from a tree branch, and I had trouble keeping my good eye open too to drive back home.  Worst headache I ever had.  Mine felt fine the next day though, so yours is way worse...

Jason, I didn't run myself.
We were there in the e36 m3 trying to see if we can get a 13. Last time he went out he was getting low 14's, and since then the car has more grip and lighter wheels so we were going to do a base and then start pulling things until it did it, but we started early and it was pretty hot. Every run was 14.11 or 14.10 at 98-97-98, was so close to breaking 100 and 13. This is on a e36 m3 with an out of the box chip, pulleys and an airbox.

I forgot to tell you about my car - After that night I was disapointed as it should have at least trapped much faster. (540's normally trap closer to 100) Turns out the chip/ecu I was sold as a 540 (4L 290hp) chip was actually coded for the 3L (220hp) engine. The engines are so similar that either chip will run either car, but obviously I was way down on power. Got the right software in it today; totally different car. Should put down close to stock 540 sedan time now (14.4 @ 98 according by the magazines, so i'll expect something like 15 flat at 95 in the wagon)

NICE!!  That will wake it up.  Good to hear.

Last year my luxocruiser trapped 93 or so mph and a 14.7 so it would be a good race.  Tho my car is faster this year due to a proper tune.

Remi, that's crazy!
I wish my bin file was all wrong, too ;)
But you're also an ass. Even with a tune I'd be lucky to hit 90mph.

Time to take me for a ride now.

LOL what did I do ?

John - I thought they were like 3300 lbs. My race weight is like 4200 though, and we make pretty much the same power, but you do it with a turbo vs a v8. You're right, should be fun. I have to learn to launch better to give you a challenge though. Plus I can easily pull the full size spare and massive rear benches to drop 100 lbs ;)
