Well since you asked... any 99.5 - 06 tdi stock would probably run betwee 17 and 19 seconds in the 1/4.  However there are alot of tuning and upgrade options now for the computer controlled  4 cyl vw diesels and getting into the 13's is now possible while still getting 50 plus on hwy, 30 plus in town -mpg  8)

Funny story...

 someone may have just parked his Mark 2 kraut missle and bought an EG vx civic with the 25:1 ultra lean burn, wideband equiped d15z1, taller gearset and the super light 2045lbs hatchback body...

 You know, maybe.

Haha I didn't buy it for speed, although its considerably quicker than the jetta thats for sure.
and also sure if you don't mind getting it back in pieces.
