New RG Fridge
« on: January 18, 2011, 03:14:21 pm »
thanks to a generous donation from MR Daniel Dee, the shop now has a functional full sized fridge where our tech's can store their lunch, drinks, beer, nos bottles, AND MOTUL OILS!

YES thats right, we'll be serving all our Motul fluids chilled now for maximum performance!

NONE!   serves you right for owning a type-r !

we wouldnt rebuild a honda trans in house just yet ... so it would have to be sent out.

No worries.

It wasnt the tranny, the passenger wheel bearing was seized up. hub wouldnt spin, which is why she made grinding noises.

Do you want me to bring it in, just so you guys can have it?
Im going to go pick up a "new" Knuckle / hub / bearing from a wrecker.

My buddy at 128 Auto (on north road there) has a bearing press so I just get him to press stuff in and out for me.

Lemme know if you want it as a whole, or pressed apart first.

if you buy a used knuckle/hub/bearing and its in good shape then there is no pressing required... just remove the old knuckle with the bad bearing and bolt in the "new" knuckle/hub/bearing assembly.  easy peasy.  Usually what i do to my own cars if im pressed for time and just need a cheap easy fix

If you want real brand new bearing then you will have to use a press... or a hammer/sockets to remove the old assembly.  usually installing the new bearing/hub assembly you will want to use a press as its easier on the bearing then beating on it with a hammer... but i have done it on honda JUST using a hammer/sockets/vice.
