Going to stick with the 14b, Brett?

If so, I must follow this. 'Tis my plan as well.

Yea no doubt, we'll have to do a photoshoot sometime.
im planning an evo 3 build, 550cc's, 3"ss exhaust, apexi safc, 255lph wally, 2g mas, aeromotive afpr, ss intake with a k&n, evo 3 16g, evo 3 manifold, evo 3 o2 housing. Stock bottom end with new bearings, rings, hot tanked, grinding and machining. Getting all new internals for the head with revised lifters, porting and machining. Havn't decided if im gunna use the saab intercooler from hartman, or get an all new setup. Gunna have to replace all the brakes and wheel bearings as well as get new tires and eventually some nice shoes.
havn't decided on a bov yet, thinking about maybe just getting one of those kits for my 1g bov. Will probably get a shmancy one down the road.
have been procrastinating on this car for years, but the time has come, have a used 1990 tranny lined up for christmas, build will have to wait until after the holidays though.

...sorry kinda went off there

champagne nor BUST!! hahah

Yeah Cam i will be going with the 14b for this build.  I love how hard the 14b's hit.....compared to a 16g turbo.  I was thinking of swapping to a B16g 7cm hotside tho and ditch the tinie tiny 14b housing.  Should add a couple extra ponies doing that and probably flow better then a good ported 14b housing i would imagine..

i guess time will tell!! Maybe i can have her ready for RG's dynoday in the new year!!.

unfortunatly its going to be a pretty mild build.  Ill be shooting for maybe 220 AWHP ish if i was to dyno it.

UPDATE:

Did some more work on her tonight.  I decided since i have everything apart now is the time to do some "mods" and porting to the 14b.  I had a blown 16g sitting around so i took the hotside and swapped it onto the 14b.

Here is a pic showing the difference in the small 14b housing opening compared to the 16g housing i put on.

So then i grabbed a old 1G o2 housing i had laying around and decided to do some mild porting.

took the step out of the housing and took out a bit of material as well.  comparision pic to a stock 1g o2.

here is the porting i did to the o2 housing where the wastegate port is.  cleaned it up pretty good!

heres a shot comparing to a stock o2.  not a huge amount of material out of it... concentrated more on the wastegate porting to help boost creep.

And whats better then a 16g turbine housing on a 14b? a PORTED 16g turbine housing on a 14b!!  (just did very mild porting... took the most material out around the flapper, again to help fight creep.

I took a bit of material also above the flapper to allow it to open up a little more if the diaphram will allow it to.

more updates to come tomorrow!

good stuff and yes a 14b ported hits HARD!!  I used to be able to break loose 225 wide tires loose coming around corners in 2nd gear and in 1st gear, straight line.
