a few random pics
« on: October 18, 2010, 06:26:56 pm »
here's a pic of what the car looks like now for those who haven't seen it in while.  the latest additions are the stoptech big brakes and the 18x8.5 volk racing ce28n's in magnesium blue.

stoptech big brake kit

this is a shot of my headlight after a friend took it apart and wet sanded both the inside and out, then polished it.  it used to be really bad to the point where my hid's didn't even look white or bright.  if you look closely at the carbon fiber hood, it's been block sanded, then clear coated to have a matching shine as the car.  not only does this allow me to wax the hood, it also prevents the hood from oxidizing and turning all hazy like most carbon hoods do.

Yes, I got those wheels off of Lowell. I bought the stoptechs without checking for wheel clearance cuz stoptech claims that most 17's will fit. Because I had 18's, I figured I was safe so I didn't bother to check. After installing my brakes, I go to put the wheels back on and SURPRISE!!  The spokes don't clear the face of the calipers. After working out a trade with Lowell, I get the tires mounted and wheels bolted onto the car. First drive, every bump I hit, the tires drag on my fenders and got all cut up. Luckily, I have a friend with a fender roller so after work one day we rolled the shit out of the fenders so now it only rubs if I hit a large bump while turning but atleast it doesn't cut up my tires anymore.

Underhood isn't quite as tight unfortunately. After a couple engine transplants and downgrades, it looks pretty anemic. I'll post some pics of what it looked like some time ago though when looks was somewhat of a concern to me. Now it's all about function. Maybe after winter I'll make some more changes. I'm getting kinda bored with this setup. There's a couple of billet wheel turbo's I got my eye on.

here are some underhood pics of what it looked like before i robbed some parts from it.  this was the 490+hp setup.  ;D.  since then, i've gone back to a stock battery, stock intake manifold, no more coil on plugs, a dnp header instead of fp manifold and an hta68 billet wheel 16g sized turbo.

these are the direct port nitrous lines all plumbed in but never squeezed.

+1, sexy and still looks better in real life  ;D

So you going to put that nitrous on? All you need now is a drag parachute, people don't try to race cars that have a parachute...

So which wheels didn't fit if the 18x8.5 ce28n's do... and what tire size are you running that you had to roll your fenders to fit?  Thanks Yan.

i think the original wheels were ce28n knock offs which i believe were 18x7 +45 offset.  the new ones are 18x8.5 and i think they're a +35 offset.  they stick out a bit in the front but the backs are completely flush with the fender.
