do they actually make the road brighter, or is it just about what colour the headlights are?

Actually John, I cannot confirm this 100%, but it does make the roads brighter, but not necessarily better visibility in certain weather conditions.

As I have HIDs, and can confirm for a fact, it sucks ass in the rain as I cannot see lines as well.. and the white light bounces off water making it harder too see.  In fact, I had stock lights put back for a while, and they worked better in the rain and snow.

Just my input.  But hell for $4.99 ~!! You can't beat that ~!! =)

yea, non stock HID's, unless its a really good quality kit, are usually worse.

Sylvania SilverStar Ultras are quite good, look nice, and won't get you a ticket, either a real one or a ricer one  :)

My Mazdas stock is 3700k I think.  It could be brighter overall, but the colour is fine.  Its just light out in front of the car, not one tint or another.

As well as GE Nighthhawk halogen bulbs are a big improvement over stock too.

Sorry Cal, 4300 stock, D2S bulbs.

Rich, the Nitehawks are good too, I have them in my Galant, but not as good as the Silverstars, at least IMHO.

I've got PIAA bulbs in the high beams (Completely and utterly not worth it, even given that I got them for net/-30 from Lordco when I worked there), and Nighthawks for low beams after those PIAAs died... Half the price, just as good.

I'd like to get yellow for the fogs... Or perhaps wrap the lenses in a transparent yellow film (Laminex, etc)
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.

I know I bought the same lights, not as bright as I was expecting for the price. I'm probably going to take them back :P
