dsm problems get to me !!  my car died out driving up holdom, and i had to get it towed home from 2 blocks away  which was dumb . im going to inspect it today to see what went wrong .

i was driving up holdom and it really bogged down at curtis street and died . so i decided to do some road side inspecting which was sketchy  and took off the timing belt cover and the belt was good still so not sure what it is  ? when i turn it over it sounds like the starter is just free spinning , or no compression ? ill find out in a couple hours when i test it

Sounds like the t-belt teeth wore out and were shredded at the crank sprocket...Was the belt due to be replaced? Was it spuddering or sounding a little off just prior to this?

Obviously question out of the way; does it have gas? Gauge works? Filled up recently?

See if there is a gap between the starter and the block, maybe the starter seperated.
Spining freely usualy means there is NO compression, or its not catching.
But since it bogged down, clearly its not just a starter issue.
Do you have a compression tester?

matt mann was right . the teeth on the t belt were all riped off around the crank pully  so i donno do i need a new head now? or did i look out and gave it go between the strokes and miss the valves?

Thats a hit or miss thing right now.
Replace the timing belt and do a compression test.
If it runs good, youre lucky.
If your at a lower RPM, you have less of a chance of destroying the Valves.
Judging by the ease of the turning of the starter, i'd say you probably nailed a few valves.

Unfortunately the high pitch, faster turning starter is a sign of low compression, indicating at least probably some bent valves.  Were you driving at the time or idle ?  In both my failures I was driving.  The second time only about 30kph, yet still bent a good number of valves.

Ds-map / Jackal, highly recommended.  I've been running it for the last 3 - 4 years.  Amazing improvement in throttle response and overall power under part throttle conditions, and that was with the old maf still in place for 2 years.  Amazing tuning platform in my opinion, and best of all free.
