New Valve cover!!
« on: February 16, 2010, 11:18:01 pm »
I got one of my "Hyundai" Valve covers sent out for powercoating.  Its all done now.  Here are a few pics of the finished result.  The lighting doesn't do the cover justice as the lighting is no good for the pics, sorry for the yellowness..... its just a black with polished aluminum letters..  Anyways..

You can see the "textured" paint I went with.  It turned out awesome.

hahah you can see Yvonne in the reflection.  Shes holding her wrist cuz a wasp just had stung her.  I heard a scream and went to see what happend.  I killed the wasp and saved the day.

Work was all done by Sheela.  Awesome work!  Will definalty go back to her if I need anymore work like this done.  Well worth it for sure.

The cover comes like this from factory. (besides the cutsom paint and custom spark plug cover) It comes stock on some hyundai elantras and sonota's with the DOHC engine.  I love the different style of font these covers have, and how they come "shaved" without the text on the top or any ribbing on the cover.  Makes for a VERY clean look compared to the "busy" DSM covers.

This will more then likely be going on the purple colt, although I do have 4 cars in total it could go on if i wanted to ;)

Looks awesome.  Liked the textured powder coating.  AND you got a bling spark plug cover to go with it ~

Take some pics of your engine when this goes on ~

Fuck dude, that's sexy! Nice work Sheela, how much that cost you mang?

So...the plug cover is optional on Elantra's and Sonata's? Where'd you come across it?

Thanks guys!

This spark plug cover was the seventh template that I did. I have since changed the look a bit.  On this one I molded it around the oil neck and tipped it down to make it look clean around the plug wires.

This  valve cover is square where the spark plug cover sits, the DSM valve covers are rounded.  I polished the front and back and applied a clear powder to a depth of 3mm.
This will ensure there will be no oxidation or rust problems.

Was a great piece to work with, thanks Brett.

I tried already, but the oil fill neck hole is too small.
