First time I ever did something like this was in my old 92 Subaru Station wagon!! Not as close, right around the 3 or 4 ring is where I stayed haha

Looked just like this one but red and, strategically placed rust!

Laugh all you want! That car went through hell!! Mudding, snow, a small jump here and there, and was still the DD for 6 months! :P

last winter my budy had a 87 subaru xt turbo, it had new shocks out of the wagon in it, so it was jacked up with like 8" of ground clearance. big meaty snow tires on 14" rims. we found some guy in a big lifted toyota stuck in about 2 feet of powder, asked if he needed some help, he said no and mubled somthing about a stupid little car. so we did donuts around him, the snow was flying like 30 feet into the air.

haha nice!

I was going to buy a lil turbo'd subaru like that for 600 bucks, but the guy ended up moving and I couldn't find him again. Had a 4" "custom" lift in it haha

Was just going to be my little romper toy. Beauty cars. My fav part was the electronic 4wd button on the shifter! Made rockfords sweet! Rip it backwards and crank it hard as soon as you let off the gas hit the 4wd button, slam first and rev\drop clutch and you launch! :D

theres two filters you can use for that car cole.  One is used on 1G's commonly and the other is used on 2G's mostly

The bigger "classic" 1G one (PH 3950) i think....  (the one you got?... which will work as well.)

But i usually use the 2G style one (PH or TG 7317) cuz you can get the "better (tough guard)" fram filter in that style that has the extra filter material and screen inside of it with a better valve inside it.

I found that that 7317 one is easier to take off and get on then the big fat 1G style one anyways..  also it seemed to not leak as easy as the bigger one.  (the plate or cooler that the filter screws onto has a little bend or dent in it on the face where the oil filter seal touches... and sometimes it leaks a tiny bit...  if that happens just unscrew the filter a bit and screw it back down...  should stop it from leaking.  Or you can just put a new oil cooler on there as well which is pretty easy to change.  (two coolant lines and the stud which you need a deep socket to get off)  I have a spare cooler that you can have free of charge if your interested, if you ever wanna fix it for good.  It was never much of a issue tho for me as i got it to stop leaking pretty easily.

The bigger "classic" 1G one (PH 3530)

Actually it's PH 3950, you can also use the TG 3950, which is what I use.
Outta the game!

Yeah I knew both filters would work, but when i saw how cramped it was I decided to save myself the trouble later on and just wait until today to get the smaller one. I wasn't in a hurry.... until i saw the snow coming down haha. btw, lubrifiner numbers are PH2856A (big) and PH2867 (smaller) ;)

i believe the TG filter is for full synth oil. when i put full synth in my car i was told to buy the TG 3950 instead of the PH
