Some guys on dsmtuners have made some effective home made ones. I wonder if snap on has some that work?

Yeah some are, but some are with the head still on the block.

When I do my valve seals I might just take the head off and build it. I'd like my ports cleaned up a bit. Who does 4g63 heads the best? I will do the assembling but not the porting or polishing. Ill leave that to people with more experience than me.

Brett, I have a great valve spring compressor.  It has a bar that fits along the head, end to end, about 6-8 inches above it.  Then there is a lever that fits onto the bar.  one end pushes on the valve and the other end has a handle.

Works better on the car than off.

Jason currently is in possesion of it.

You can pick these up from Volkswagen part stores (it's what the VW guys use).  Snap-on makes an expensive one, but the one I have looks identical and was like $60.

I got mine at KMS, nice kit too, and about that much. I think it was $53 or something.
