Adventures in engine swapping...
« on: September 01, 2009, 02:31:21 am »
Here are some pics of Zach-Attack and I removing my old broken engine, pulling his 93xxx km 6-bolt and dropping into my Eclipse, then assembling Zach's stroker (a combination of my ported head setup with Derek's 2.3 bottom end) and throwing it in his talon. If it seems like the pics fall short of telling the story to it's completion, it's because eventually we forgot to keep taking pictures... oh well.

Step 1: Assemble the compressor ----------- check!

No way in hell it would have happened without this guy

I wish a 2 post lift fit in there...

Liquid Wrench, don't bother starting unless you have some.

Yes I'm using the jack handle as a snipe

She's a big one but she was already dead...

The next victim

Destruction! We later put a new boot on it. Messy it was.

It's my fish now Zach!

He insisted on having an "in the empty bay" pic

Brett showed up to drink beer and supervise the timing belt jobs

Sorry guys... I know... crack kills.

Poof!!! they're in!

that oil cooler placement has disaster written all over it.  I would fix that before you spew oil everywhere after bashing it on a bump.

Other then that its looking good guys!!

I NEVER PASSED OUT ON THE BLOCK!!! i drank 4 beers!! jeeze!

this is true, ask me how I know. In fact you can ask John's driveway too.
