Well I want to go out to mission raceway's drivers training program so me and the wife went out to check out the cars and watch some of the action.

I took a few shots with my CRAPPY OLD cellphone camera as its all I had out there.  So bare with me on picture quality.  Some of the cars were not in the program, just parked.

Heres some of a Xr4ti that I thought John would like.  The exterior was nicely done up with a OEM kit.

A RS camero THIS THING WAS FAST!!

An old austin martin!  VERY COOL!

another classic austin

This was probably the fastest car out there at the training

Nice Mini

My buddies supercharged 500 HP mustang hatch

cars lined up.  ready for the "race"

My wifes favorite car.

and last but not least!!!   (best car out there)

hahaha

oh shitty man!!  well at least you can get that fixed up and you know what ur doing!

Good luck!  now the question is to get the head pressure tested/machined or not.

Pressure test and machine down head =  $150 aprox.... maybe more

For that money i could buy three or 4 cylinder heads.  Thats why i never did it.  If its cracked and your put it all backtogether you loose out on a $50 head gasket and some hours.

Cuz you can cange heads easily now i would just check it for flatness (you overheated the crap out of it) and look for noticible signs the headgasket went.  If you see no noticible signs of the headgasket blowing i guess its time maybe for a new head or just pay the machine shop for the pressure test.

Good luck!

ASTON MARTIN, not AUSTIN Martin.  Gahhhh!  :D

Nice stuff out there.  Cool Cossie replica.  I know its a replica because the real deal has different rear windows, thats an XR of some sort to start with.

Whos Talon?  yours?

Brendan, have the head checked, and at least put in new valve stem seals.  If you need any valves I have a set here as well as a brand new OEM turbo gasket, I will be going MLS so you can have that for what I payed for it too.

Yeah it was a Xr4ti.  Pretty much stock except for the kit he had on there.  It was having some major mechanical issues.  Was overheating and blowing blue smoke out the tailpipe.  He threw some bars stop leak in it and babied it home i guess.  He said he was putting the cossie motor into it or something like that.

Nice pics there Brett. Looks like there was some decent cars there.
It brings back memories of when I was involved in that. Being able to drive the bag off of someone else's car with them strapped into the passenger's seat. Now THAT was a lot of fun !

Yes Remi, for several years I was co-chairman of the Race Driver's Committee for the Sports Car Club of BC and driving instructor for the Race Driver Training School that the SCCBC puts on. As such, I got to drive some pretty nice cars. But then, there was also some of the most unpredictable, evil handling things you could imagine !All in all, it was a lot of fun though.

Wow Doug, still have any connections in that world? I'm sure myself and a few others (John ?) would love to get some seat time. I was looking at the driver training on those days, but couldn't make it. Now i'm looking at the other training session in the fall instead.
