I had fun the time I did it, but I would suggest against the really powerful guns.  If most of us are using Nerf guns, and someone has a Barrett .50 its not much fun for the rest of us.  Those ones hurt alot and give a great advantage on muzzle velocity and range.

John no one runs there guns over 300 fps because the balls will break or won't run true if you do, all the fields have a machine to check so no one runs hot. I caught a guy turning up his gun on the field once it turned out bad for him when even his own team turned on him once I spread the word. He didn't do it again...

I don't see why you would run hotter at 300 fps if you can't hit someone that's your problem even the rental guns run 300 fps so it all pretty equal the only difference you'd find with modded guns is rate of fire and accuracy

yea when I went, they all calibrated them and it looked all good.  Then we were in the field, near some fake buildings with boards on them.  The normal guns were hitting the boards, regular noise, not a big deal.  Then this one "hero" dude started popping off.  his sounded way more powerful and when the balls hit the boards they hit WAY harder, way louder.  I got hit a very glancing blow off my helmet and it just about knocked me over.  I had a lump under my helmet from where it hit.  I was dazed from the one hit, a glancing blow.  No one did shit.  His was the only marker that sounded or hit like that one.

I really enjoyed it other than that, and if something would have been done about it, hey no problem, but because it was let go(and everyone knew it was hitting way harder, everyone commented on his hits on the fence and buildings) I just figured everyone thought it was ok.

But if when we go, its all even and fair, I'm up for that  :)

I don't have any of my own gear at all tho, so I would have to borrow/rent.

 Very carefully.

But Seriously, it's not so bad. The hand brake is annoying, it digs into my knee when i'm resting my right leg on the highway, Keep meaning to stick some foam on the end of it. I would really like a small diameter steering wheel thou. And fitting a cage is going to be... interesting when wearing a helmet due to my substantial contact with the roof already (and the falling headliner...)

It will most likely mean a very low mounted, thin seat.

For paintball, most of the people I know just rent the gear.
It's not to bad price wise and it's decent gear.

You guys with your own gear make me worried us renters will just be giant targets.
They're like expensive pokemon... gotta catch 'em all.

the most common rental gun now is a tippmann which are the most reliable guns on the planet imo. gone are the days of renters having to suck it up with pump guns. you actually get pretty good gear now
