4g63 14b, 450cc, 24x9x3 fmic custom 2.5" piping, fwd turbo talon flywheel, f1 racing stage 4 sprung clutch, Balance shafts removed, new oil pump, 1g bov, Talon rad, 3" dp, and 3" full exhaust, awd talon springs

these things always fascinate me. i'm curious as to how quick they are. i'd assume they'd haul some ass cuz of the all-mighty 4g63 motor and being that they prolly weigh half as much as a talon. what would these run the 1/4 at though? is there an actual cause for doing this other than a crazy fun-factor?

Well my colt's best time is 13.2 @ 108 MPH.  Thats with shitty tires and a pretty much stock 4g63.  This coming season it should be deep into the 12's... and all im adding is some slicks and some porting and a 2G o2 housing and a better exhuast.


Brendans colt is VERY rare.  They only made 1300 of them in 1989.  It originally came with a 4g61t (1.6L DOHC 16v non-intercooled turbo (11b))   The 4g63 he put in the bolted right up and plugged right in.

As brendan almost has all the same mods as me, he should be running about the same times as his colt is only a tiny bit heavier then mine (around 2100 lbs)

Another plus of owning a colt is beating the shit out of all those "fast" cars like v8 stangs, vettes, porches, Beamers, mercedes.  The looks on there faces is priceless when they get romped on by a little dodge colt.

theres a couple of ppl that have actually swapped in a AWD talon drivetrain into a colt, making it AWD.  quite insame in my oppinion, and alot of fabrication.

actually i have seen OEM hatch versions that come AWD as well.

i'd love to have an AWD hatch colt. the looks on peoples face would be priceless. and they'd never know it was coming, besides from maybe the exhaust note

It still has the stock tranny, they say they are just as strong as a talon one...  we will see.  first gear spins way too much, and it will spin 2nd gear all the way to 100kms till I have to shift.  3rd pullls really hard, You have to hold onto the steering wheel tight or the car will change lanes on you. did just over 200kms in 4th

yeah the colt GT trannys are strong.  Just as strong as a FWD DSM tranny i would say.   I guess we will find out tho. 

I know for sure that the 1.5L colt trannys DO NOT hold up well to the mighty power of the 4g63t.


I still think you should have kept the 1.6L in there till you blew it.

Just something about a 1.6L romping the shit out of pretty much everything on the road.

oh yea, his is a turbo tranny.  Forgot about that.  I was gonna say if its an FM21, thats not nearly as strong as the fm33 of the turbo DSM.
