Come on guys... What say you? Let's make this an official meet.
...
Cam, would you be going in your car?

I'm thinking the Official word would be a good one. If we can guarantee a number of people going, it means that fewer 'mabyes' will bail.

I will be taking my car up, guaranteed. I've been wanting an excuse to do this drive for a couple years.

Well...

I count twelve people that have expressed interest.

Again, in case anyone missed it:

The date in question for Tofino is the weekend of August 15th - 16th.

If you're interested in going, be sure we know!
Start thinking about accomodations - There is camping available as well as hotels/b&b, etc. Book early, things fill up and get expensive quickly.

Funny thing is I am going up there for 3 days on the Feb 19-21,The one year anniversary. I love it up there and so does my wife but not the wallet!!! lol

Appears my car will be sitting for a long time now as per I am not doing my Coop at the end of my 4 year degree hopefully I will finish it in 3 years.

As for the meet I would but probably school and no disposable income!!

Standing on a street corner for a couple nights a week should pay that bill  :P Hehe jokes.

Anybody going to help out organize from the mainland side?

The only problem with having this meet is the finances. Closer to the date would mean super inflated prices. It's WAY too expensive to book too close and it's also difficult to just find somewhere to stay.

The only reason I can see for not being able to make it if my finances do not allow, that being said I'm already budgeting.  ;D And if all else fails I don't mind tenting on the side of the road somewhere.

Haha, that would be a sight to see Mark. I'd love to do it, but I have a few things not in my favor. First off, we're already booked for June, so going again in August would get pretty pricey...the other thing being that I kinda shot myself in the foot with the Talon.

So this is gonna sound really stupid to most of you probably...but I think it's pretty cool.  ;D
I put a monster SPL system in it...and now I can't leave alone in public anywhere as it is on full display through the rear hatch. Window's not tinted, and I have no intention on tinting it. The only place my car can sit unattended in public is at work because it's crazy secure there with two motorized gates and security patrols...as well as my buddies always being in and out.

So pretty much, I can't take it anywhere that requires it to be parked by itself without me. I know it sounds really stupid to do, but I only really use it for work and back and cruising anyway. I'd love to bring it, but it's just too much of a risk for me to take.

Alright well... Anybody else? Come on guys. It's far away enough to be able to pencil it in your calendars.

Goran, you're coming, whether you like it or not.
Cam's already going to be there. With or without us all
I'm going just because it'll be something to do
Rich will be there... Car or no car

Shane?
Joliesa?
Matt F.?

I can call a couple camp sites and hotels/b&bs this week to see if they can give some kind of a group rate.

Tofino is the weekend of August 15th - 16th.

Don't want to let this thread drop out...

Had a little discussion with Maurits today, and came to the conclusion that unless we attract a core group of people who will commit to coming, then we won't be able to pull in the 'mabyes' - Which seems to be the majority in this thread so far.

So....
1. Cam Weiss
2. Maurits Vos
3. Richard Clark
4. Goran Jandric
