Summer Meet in Tofino - August 15th-16th
« on: January 28, 2009, 01:49:47 pm »
K I'm sure you can read. Nothing ever happens on the island with DSM meets and what now. The biggest "dsm meet" I've had on the island was at Richard's house and the dsms there were all ours.

Who would actually be interested in going to Tofino in the summer? It's a badass cruise up there, plus do some camping or whoever wants stays in a hotel. Some drinking, partying and surfing. Whatever whoever wants to do.

Somebody... Anybody???

EDIT: Added date into the title

I actually just booked two nights at the Tin-Wis resort for June 12-13th...but the shitty thing is that my car's way too low to get on the ferry so we'll be bringing the wife's civic.  :-\
I got on the ferry a few years ago after they had to stop traffic both ways top let me on so I could go sideways  ;D  But now I have the bodykit on and it's lowered too so no chances of getting on there without breaking something.

Perhaps this should be moved to the GVRD Meets subforum - It'll get read more there, and we might even get a few Mainlanders over the ferry.

My car was actually off the road and went back the effin day after the meet. Wasn't happy.

K so... that makes 4 people? I know Rich is down...
Then again, when the time comes, we'll see how many people would actually make it

That's the spirit!

Can we maybe get this moved to the GVRD section and see if we get any interest/feedback there?

Thank you, Wade.

Tofino has over 100 KM of what is known to be one of the best driving roads on the Island leading up to it... How's that for incentive?

According to Google Maps... Once you leave Port Alberni, it's about 120 km to Tofino, or you can take a little bypass to Ucluelet, which would be about 85 km.

I'm just stoked to drive the Pacific Rim Highway. I've never done before, but it's reputation is awesome.

Its also some of the most bendy and rough roads too....     with some really tight 2 lane areas.....   but once your on the coast...   oh man....    straights away with hills galore...  it can be very fun.
