well it is RED after all  :)  most expensive colour  ;)

yea price is high for sure.  People don't get that you can't charge what it costs to do the mods, and add it to the cost of a car.  Its just too bad.

Could be a good one for say $4500 tho if its been done right by L&R.

I think it is high(-) he's owned it since 92 (+) but $5000 in mods=breaks/problems etc..(-) and 163K (+) but when you think about it $7500 for a 91 car is pretty high. Sure it looks nice but no matter what they do to the car its never going to appreciate that much in price.
The guy will find out soon that there is barely a market for Talons in Victoria. It took me 5 months to sell my 2G NT and I was the 2nd owner and it had 103K on it. If someone buys it well he made some money back, if it stays on there it will only have to come down in price.

I'd think about $5500 if it was spotless, mabye six grand if it had leather and not-grubby wheels.

yea, if you want top dollar, you need to detail it to the max, professionally if you are not that great at it, and there can be no excuses for anything.  It all has to be good.

Ive been offered $5000 for mine several times now and im firm on $5500. People are out there I guess....   but they keep trying to low ball me even lower so they can just spend extra cash themselves. fuck that.

Mine is spotless, low km, awesome leather interior...       and BRAND new clutch disk and EVO III 16g as of Aug. ....

Im just being a bit stubborn. I think $5500 is fair for whats out there.

Its funny those people who try to convince me to $4500 or $5000 dont turn around and buy the other stock ones with low km's....     so I know the near stock thing doesnt apply to them.

Theres a 92-94 out there for $4000 with 125,000km. Thst real low (what I bought mine at actually), yet these people who cant afford or wont give me $5500 wont buy that one?

when my car gets painted, I wouldnt sell it for less than 6. lol its got low km, great leather interior no rips, awd, 4 bolt rear, kyb suspension 1gb rear end conversion, eprom etc. i only have a small 16g tho.. but still after I get paint and the trans situation figured out, the car will be mint. under the hood is clean.

ya next Talon I buy if and after I sell this one is going to be from the ground up.

Im going to bu one thats not running and get it for like $1000 in good shape and just dump a brand new motor/trans in it. Just spend the $7000 on top of the $1000 and have a almost new running car out of it.

I know Shane...    you should totally get that. I too have EPROM, bi brakes, 4 bolt rear end, awesome leather, sunroof...   the whole deal. They are worth it. I may not have a 6 bolt, but 1G 7bolts never walked more than 1G 6 bolts.

Don't you think $500 is not that much too loose considering your car has been for sale for so long now. People who are looking at getting a talon and keep seeing your ad, will think its got some problems or something is up. If I were you I would take the $500 hit;that is if you really want to sell

meh these cars aren't worth much right now, I practically had to give mine away and it had ALOT more done to it then most other dsms out there.

They are sports cars that are over 15 years old with a reputation for poor reliability, that doesn't exactly make for great resale value.

I would also never buy a sports car off a younger guy because it will of obviously been abused plain and simple
Had a DSM...........sold it............ never been happier

I hear what you are saying Matt,

Ive thought about taking the $500 hit, but there is just too much extra goodies I would miss like my tinted windows and $500 stereo deck.

I keep looking at other cars around...   honda's, volkswagon's etc and honestly, they are selling for close to the same with wayyyy  worse mileage (over 90,000km' more) for similar prices that are bone stock with bald ass tires.

I refuse to budge strictly due to principle. I know if I was looking for a car with an open mind, I would buy mine again. I just ned the money to get back into school. I will still have to buy a decent beater...    but even thats costing like $1500-$2000 these days for something thats not ready to fall apart. So if take the difference...   thats only $3000-3500 in my pocket and I lose my Talon. You just have to draw the line somewhere.

I dont want to come across as a ass but it seems to me that you are kinda being stubborn about this.  ??? Sorry Chad. Has anyone countered offered $5250 or has it just been $5000 the highest. I really think if you are truly motivated to sell. $500 is not gonna make that much of a difference to your wallet. If you saying no to $5000 at the end of the day you could've had $5000 in your pocket.

I'm sure you have an attachment to your car, like most people on here. You've probably put lots of hours and money into the car; which I totally understand. I think like you say school is more important so....

We kinda stole this thread just a bit  ::)

Ya $5000 is the highest I got offered. I did say id sell for $5200 if i kept my deck in the car. No go on that. So ive compromised a bit. But Im not going back to school till June. But I have to save a lot from now till then. So i do wanna sell...    but can afford to wait a bit.
