One of my friends used to have a 1992 Nissan Skyline GTS-T that he bought from applewood kia in langley.  That thing blew up, so he put at RB25DET in it.. then he went 200 into a ditch in the rain...  wrote the car off

about 2 weeks after ICBC paid him out.. he imported 2 cars from japan.  He now has a 1992 Mazda RX7 FD , and the other car he brought in for another friend of mine was a 1992 Nissan Skyline GTS-T.  The new skyline came with a RB25DET straight from japan (obviously not factory, but thats how it came when it got off the boat)   Now they are just working on getting them inspected and actually passing... lol   RX7 has been in 5 times, they keep failing him and giving him a new list of shit to fix... wiring up side markers, daytime running lights, etc.  So the RX7 still will be another month before its on the road...

The skyline though, it will be a little longer... it sits until Friend #2 gets a job... lol

Oh, also forgot to mention...

After ICBC paid off the first skyline.. friend#1 got 18 grand back.
He imported BOTH cars, the FD and the GTS-T for a grand total... of 11 grand. included shipping.  FD costed 6 grand, and the GTS-T costed 4.5 grand

imported cars are cheap as hell.... my VR4 costs me $2000 shipped and everything that's already like 240bhp 4WD and everything luxurious LOL.

Anyhoo a Eclipse VS GTR would be highly unfavorable to the Eclipse. Top speed of GTR = 317km/h top speed for a DSM is 240 at best.

so while you are approaching top speed squeezing every click out of your 4 pot motor, the GTR is approaching cruise speed.

for-get-a-bout-it.

Also why hasn't anyone pointed out that it's NISSAN not NISSON!!!  ??? ???

isnt that from the revscene meet back in early march?  from what i people have told me...the guy can only insure his car for a year or two because he moved from back east and that vehicle is what he brought with him.  that is what i heard so im not 100% sure...

The rule is still 15 years.  Or else you would see everyone importing vehicles that are less ~ I would even consider a Silvia S15  :P

People with imports less than 15 years usually import them on special terms.  These are usually classified as show cars.  They basically do not see the light of day most of the year and garage kept.

From what I heard this guy brought his car (R34) out ONLY on that day for the show.  Any other day it would be illegal for him to be driving this car around.
