pics from the AutoX school
« on: October 01, 2008, 10:05:28 pm »
well, here are some pics of the autox school out at the driving center in Pitt Meadows.

There are lots more if you are interested.

This is your Hstock winner for the day.

A worthy STS competitor.

No words really needed if you are a car person.

Pretty sharp action shots.  Post some more.  I'd like to go to one of those, I could borrow a miata since my cars will probably never run again.  :p

Was there a stupid-fast Turbo, AWD, Caged Mk.1 Golf there? There were a few people talking about what sounds like this event at the Victoria Motorsports Club meeting last night.
Objects in mirrors appear to be losing.

no, there was a pretty damn fast mk3 golf, white with about 400 hp and sticky tires.  Pretty damn nice car really, sorta sleeper too  :)  Really tall dude owned it, like 6'6" or something   :)

For more pics, I put up lots on my flickr account.  Search for John_in_BC.  Have more too, but like these.

auto?  yougoddabekiddinme...  This thing hardly has enough tourque to pull the skin off a pudding.  With an auto it would be just discusting.

yea, you might think so, but not so much.  There was a couple of auto cars there and they had a hard time of it.  Its either hold it in gear and over rev it, or let it shift and be lugging or always downshifting.  There was a guy in a nice GTi 1.8t Golf with an auto and he was getting really frustrated.  Especially in the fast sweeper.
