What's your evidence and thoughts behind that?

Did you have a failure?

The ARP studs are supposed to be stronger and manufactured to tighter tolerances.  Also properly installed studs will have a more even consistent clamping force than stock bolts.  Studs also distort the bore different than bolts do tho so they should only really properly be used on a new build where the block has a torque plate installed with the studs.  That said lots of guys have stuck them in stock motors and it's worked out just fine.  Don't expect to see/feel a performance gain tho.

head and block prep are soooooo important when installing a new head gasket.  Also, I would suggest putting a stock or stock type of head gasket(composite) on a block that was only hand prepped.  The metal ones need to have a finely machined surface to seal correctly.  Yes there are guys who didn't do it that way, and great, cool, but its not a common thing for it to work out that way.

And like Mike said, what evidence are you basing your conclusion on?

yeah ARP's have been proven, time and time again granted tho stock OEM head bolts are good as well.  You just have to watch out for the stock ones stretching.

I have re-used stock ones many times before and not had a problem as well.

I read enough threads in DSMtuners about ARP's not holding hi-boost (beyond 30 psi)
and locally I had heard some DSMer's (not mentioning names)  finding their ARP's nuts loose
enough to turn by hand after driving around a few days.

I believe you are supposed to retorque them after a short time.

Hell, even stock bolts get loose after a bit of driving.  I just retorqued a local members head bolts(stockers) after about 1 month of use on a built engine.
