FVT route info
« on: April 30, 2007, 08:42:55 pm »
So, here it is. This is based on the route from the last 2 years with a minor change or two. As there was some discussion about where to go this year, the end of the tour is up in the air. We will however, follow this map as far as Aggisiz. Please post your suggestions for how you would like to end the tour.

thanks,

I'd suggest stick with original, the meet is only a month away changing the route will confuse people.

Changing the end of the run a month in advance won't confuse anyone.  The problem is when you flip flop on the date and/or time and/or meetup place right up to the event.

It's a nice drive up to the Hope slide but it always seems to be miserable and cold up there.  It would be kind of nice to go there, do a big group pic but then head to Chilliwack or something for sitting around and talking.  From there everyone can leave whenever they want.

I know on previous runs some people alwyas get mad at how long the breaks take and all that.  You could truncate the enroute stops some, stay at the slide just long enough to organize and take some group photos then bugger off to Chilliwack for extended talking and hood popping.  It's not like it's any more driving either because everyone has to go past Chilliwack on the #1 on their way home anyhow.  Well... except for me, but I've never complained about having to drive my car too much   :P

For this year, Mikes suggestion just a couple posts up is a good idea.

next year I have some other ideas, no Hope.  That time could be put to MUCH more fun, trust me  :)

Some of us out here have been talking and there is a huge parking lot at the Value Village.  This is good for 3 reasons.

1.) its huge.

2.) its near lots of restaraunts, from quite nice to fast food and all in between.

3.) its near the hiway and easy to get to and leave from.

bonus reason.  There is another Value Village on the route already, so its kinda simmetrical.
