Be sure to have the journal ends of the rods checked for out of round.

Have you had problems with this Scott?  One ones that came with studs pressed in?  Because I would think that should be the reason you buy them with studs already in...

I havent personally had problems, but from what I've researched,Eagle has had bad batches of rods due to quality control issues.

Yeah I believe it.  A friend, actually registered on this board with about 2 posts, bought some for his VW/Audi 1.8T engine and was disturbed enough by the quality and machining on the radius' and abundance of sharp edges that he sent them back opting for more expensive Pauter's.  I saw them and it just seemed like they were unfinished almost.  Ready for the finishing passes, and chamfers, but not done.  From the pictures of what you can see those look pretty good thought that Derek has.

i'm getting a machine shop to put my bottom end together, so i'll get them to double check for tolerances, and radius the pistons and all the other stuff.

eagle has issues i always machine the rods out of the box otherwise they throw bearings.. AND clevite is not a good choice of bearings. made in usa not japan.
bad tolerances.

As well as the Clevites are no longer made of thier tri-metal alloy. They are just a basic aluminum bearing now.

just researched and looked @ my bearings. loooks like i got a old batch as i got P series. stamped right on the bearings. I looked on the boxes as well. and the main bearings are made in japan, where as the rod bearings are from USA.

Nice toy, your turbo will be weak link in the setup though. The M-trim flows less than an Evo 16G. Unless your hp goals are less than 340whp.

according to bullseye power turbo, yes i know most of you don't like this company. the m-trim flows 44lbs/min and the evo 3 tops out a reporting 40-44lbs/min with cams.  who knows till i bolt this baby up and tell you guys how this will do. only time will tell.
