relayed for HIDs, now it doesn't like to turn off sometimes
« on: September 08, 2006, 09:34:05 pm »
I've followed these instructions:
http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/WiringHeadlightRelays.htm

I've got the 20A Bosch relay frow Boyz Audio in richmond.
I've wired the trigger wire from both left and right power wire from the low beamlights, then wired the same wire that's cut (the one going to the light) to the 87.
I've wired the new power feed from the batt and fused with 30A fuse, to the 86 on the relay.
New ground connected to the engine bay by the intake, sanded it down a little...

I've only used 1 relay and I've only wired for the low beams...

Now the right HID flickers a little, but much better than before...
AND it doesn't like to turn off, I have turn off the lights normally, then I have to hold on the high beam but not yet to the click.
Also, when the light doesn't turn off, the high beam light's partly on, but still dim...

So I need a new relay? and also 20A or do I need more amps?
Sorry, I'm not so good at power calculations:P

Thanks for any help in advance

wierd if u try to turn off the lights, but its still powered
my initial guess is that its getting too much power from somewhere.

but i failed current in science in highskoo, so its just my street sense.

You must have wired something wrong.  Sounds like you cut into a high beam and a low beam wire maybe.  If you only played with the low beam wiring there's no reason for a funny problem to develop with the high beam circuit.
