Clutch or Tranny
« on: July 26, 2006, 06:44:06 pm »
Hey guys...

I seem to have a new problem...

It's really hard to get into gear now... and if I do manage to get the car into first, when I start moving, the ride is rather chunky.

It's hard to explain... kinda feels like wheelhop or gears that don't fit right and you're forcing them together kinda of a feeling...

The thing is... if I ride the clutch, the problem doesn't seem to exist.

Does anyone have any insight on a possible cause??? I was thinking the clutch was gone but there apart of me that feels it might be the tranny.  Btw, the Galant is totally stock.

Thankx in advance

Same sort of thing happened to my 2g AWD, turned out the be a broken clutch fork.  It was almost impossible to get into gear, and the clutch pedal felt really weak.

Check it out, cuz its only like a $30 part.

Was your problem only w/ getting the car into gear or did you have the same vibrating/wheel hop like feeling when you tried to move???

I had the same issue, it did vibrate, not wheel hop though.
